Behavior
Blue Tangs are active swimmers that spend most of their day grazing on algae. They can be territorial with other tangs but generally peaceful with other species. When stressed, they may lose some of their vibrant coloring.
Reproduction
Blue Tangs are broadcast spawners, releasing eggs and sperm into the water column at dusk. The eggs hatch within 24 hours, and larvae drift in the plankton for weeks before settling on reefs.
